"The Bushrangers"
Featuring Bell UH-1H Iroquois Gunships in action over the Long Hai mountain range, Phuoc Tuy Province, South Vietnam.
Nicknamed 'Bushrangers', by the Australians for the gunship variant of the Iroquois helicopter, these aircraft were a simple yet very effective air weapons system, created through typical Aussie ingenuity. The prototype aircraft being constructed from weaponry and other components bartered from the Americans for slouch hats and Australian beer. The whole Squadron contributed to the development of the project in some way and it was a fine team effort.
Each print has been individually autographed by Barry Spicer and all five 9 Squadron RAAF Gunship Flight Commanders during Vietnam operations.
